A brand new WordPress website that was created for an arts & crafts boutique in Imhoff, Kommetjie. The decision was made to go for a gallery feel rather than integrate an e-Commerce shop. The intention is not to sell online, so stock tracking would be an issue and creating payment gateway integrations unnecessary. Instead products are highlighted beautifully and one can enquire about products or get in touch online.

This project was particularly fun as I had the added opportunity to do the product and life-style photography and photo editing myself. A morning in the shop taking product shots on my 50mm and then lifestyle shots with a wider lens. Images were edited in Lightroom and Photoshop to ensure they are sized correctly for web while maintaining the high quality images.

I integrated a great Facebook plugin which pulls through the Facebook page header, posts, photos and videos. This helps the owner by allowing her to update FB quickly, on the fly and those posts are automatically captured on the website too.

The WordPress theme selected is fresh, clean & suits the branding.

Another fun aspect of this project was selecting the domain name as one had not yet been registered. We went ahead and looked at the newly available extensions because .com and .co.za were not available and we were delighted to find one that was appropriate to the business: fevertree.boutique.
