An existing WordPress website that required updating. The theme, plugins and core were all out of date which lead to security issues and functionality problems where things started breaking due to old code becoming incompatible with new code. In the end I copied the entire website over onto dev and took it all apart and put it all back together (so to speak) ensuring that everything worked correctly by the time I was done. Old, unsupported plugins removed and replaced with new updated ones (lots of testing!).
Site speed improvements were noticed using sitespeed scanning & reporting as a result of the back-end updates.
Some SEO work was implemented by updating names and alt tags of images and reducing image file sizes where possible.
Deleting redundant images also reduced the overall file size of the website and thereby reducing hosting fees.
WordPress training session with the team to handover the basics of WordPress post uploading using their Divi theme and teaching YOAST SEO plugin and some basics around KeyWord research was also included in this job.
The challenge here was picking up code that belonged to another dev & re-doing portions of the website to accommodate new template requirements.
As a result, on-going, regular support & maintenance is in place to ensure that the site is always up to date.
